FANNIN COUNTY, TX -- The name of a man found dead, after a single vehicle accident over the weekend, is being released. But many more questions still remain about the crash in rural Fannin County.

According to the DPS report, Daniel Wade, 26, of Telephone, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene in Northern Fannin County, about 2 AM Saturday. But the events leading up to the deadly accident are not clear and remain under investigation tonight.

Troopers say the single vehicle accident happened near Telephone, on County Road 2145, about 4.4 miles North of FM 273.

According to authorities, Wade was alone, driving West in a 1994 Ford utility van on the dirt County Road. Troopers say for some reason his tires went off the right side of the road, and he over-corrected, running off the left side of the road and hitting a tree.

In the report trooper's note -- investigators believe Wade may have been injured during a "incident" at a nearby residence. However what exactly happened before the accident is unclear.

Justice of the Peace Joe Dale of Precinct 1 pronounced Wade dead at the scene in the vehicle. But how or why Wade died remains under investigation, and an autopsy report lists his cause of death as "pending".

"As far as I could tell, I could not see any gunshot wounds or anything of that nature. But I'm not sure that there wasn't any there. But I could not determine whether it was or not," Dale said.

In the D-P-S report, investigators from the Fannin County Sheriff's office say they believe Wade's death was caused by the accident.

But the exact cause of Wade's death is pending a completed autopsy report from the Collin County Medical Examiner's Office. Dale says that could take between four and eight weeks.

Family tells KXII-TV a memorial fund has been set up for Daniel Adam Wade. They say donations can be made at any Legend Bank.
