Gainesville outlaws sale, possession of K2
GAINESVILLE, TX -- The city of Gainesville has joined the growing list of cities that have banned the synthetic drug K2.

GAINESVILLE, TX -- The city of Gainesville has joined the growing list of cities that have banned the synthetic drug K2.
Council members say at Tuesday night's meeting they passed an ordinance prohibiting the sale of K2, and any paraphernalia used to consume it.
In fact, they considered it such an important safety issue, council members say they suspended the city charter and passed it unanimously in one reading.
Anyone who sells, or possesses K2 or paraphernalia used to consume it, could be fined up to $500 dollars.
That ordinance will go into effect within the next two weeks.
