ARDMORE, OK - The Ardmore Police Department launched its Ardmore Safe Streets Enforcement Team Monday.
Chief Keith Mann said A.S.S.E.T. will focus on specific crimes affecting the Ardmore community, from drive by shootings to gang activity.
The unit will also be on hand for community events that draw large crowds.
The unit consists of a sergeant and three police officers with different expertise.
The names of the officers assigned to the unit were not released.
