ADA, OK -- The city of Ada has issued a boil order for residents on the city's raw water line.

The order was issued after e. coli was found in the Byrd's Mill Spring and has the potential to contaminate the drinking water supply.

Official's say it only effects around 60 homes in total near Byrd's Mill Spring that are on the raw water line.

Residents are asked to bring water to a vigorous rolling boil for at least one minute before use. It's also recommended that residents drink bottled water.

The boil order will remain in effect until further notice.
