Alleged shoplifters arrested after leading Sherman police on chase

SHERMAN, TX -- Two women have been arrested after a chase with Sherman police officers Tuesday afternoon.

Sherman police say just after 3 p.m. they were called to Kohls after the store reported two women shoplifting. That's when a police officer walked up to the suspect's car, identified himself, and the driver took off -- nearly hitting the officer.

Police say the suspects headed west on Sara Swamy Drive and came to a dead end where they were arrested. Their names have not been released.

Investigators say the driver could face charges that include aggravated assault of a public servant.
