SHERMAN, TX -- The Texoma Chapter of the American Red Cross showed their appreciation to volunteers this afternoon.
More than 100 people showed up for the volunteers and awards banquet.
The ceremony was held was to honor both new and veteran volunteers for all of their work with the American Red Cross.
The event was held at Pecan Grove Park in Sherman.
"If you want to volunteer with the Red Cross, if you want to help us, we're always looking for funds. Again, we're not government funded, so we'll take anything that anybody within the community wants to give us," said Sara Jerome, with the American Red Cross Texoma Chapter.
Some of the volunteers honored today have been with the Red cross for more than 45 years.
