ANTLERS, OK - An Antlers man was arrested Thursday morning for the murder of his nephew last month, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

69-year-old Henry "J.C." Cole was arrested at his home Thursday located at Route 1, Box 6040 in Antlers on a first degree murder charge stemming from the killing of Gene Cole on April 15. The OSBI says Cole died from a shotgun wound to the neck.

On April 15, the OSBI says Henry Cole dialed 911 and said he'd discovered his nephew's body on his property. Pushmataha County Sheriff's Deputies arrived at the scene and called OSBI for investigative assistance. OSBI agents served a search warrant on Henry Cole's home and found two shotguns. An OSBI Firearms and Toolmarks Examiner tested both weapons and determined one was the gun used to shoot and kill Gene Cole.

Agents also collected information that a week before the murder Henry Cole was overheard saying his nephew was no longer allowed on his property.

Cole was booked into the Pushmataha County Jail.

Henry Cole's bond has been set at $1 million and court records do not list an attorney for him.
