Ardmore Chamber of Commerce kicks off Legislative Luncheons

This afternoon kicked off the first legislative luncheon of the year in Ardmore.

Representatives Pat Ownbey and Tommy Hardin and Senator Frank Simpson spoke at the luncheon.

They touched on gun control, mental health and taxes.

The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce said they're inviting more local officials to speak at the legislative luncheons, including Ardmore schools, the city and the county.

The chamber hopes the luncheons will encourage communication.

"And learn what's going on at the capitol, and have the opportunity to let them know we can voice concerns, get answers to questions," said Mita Bates, the senior vice president for the Chamber of Commerce.

The next legislative luncheon will be Friday, March the 8th.
