ARDMORE, OK - The Ardmore chapter of the NAACP invited the community to learn more about Obamacare Thursday evening.

They held a community forum at the HFV Wilson Community center. State Senator Constance Johnson spoke about the Affordable Care Act and answered questions about it.

Medicare, Medicaid and the mid-term elections were also topics of discussion.

The president of the NAACP Ardmore chapter, Elizabeth Williams, explained why they hosted the forum.

"Inform the public about sign-up for the new health care, what they can expect, how the NAACP can assist," said Williams.

Open enrollment under the Affordable Care Act starts October 1st.
