Ardmore Police Chief resigns

ARDMORE, OK - The City of Ardmore announced Tuesday the resignation of Police Chief Keith Mann (pictured, left).

In a press released issued by city manager J.D. Spohn, Mann voluntarily stepped down and chose to announce his decision jointly with the city. Mann's resignation from his position as chief of Ardmore Police was effective at the close of business on June 18.

The announcement comes after he and and Deputy Chief Eric Hamblin (pictured, right) were placed on paid administrative leave last Tuesday.

Neither the city nor police will comment on the reasons for Mann's resignation, but say in a press release:

""Chief Mann has been on a routine, paid administrative leave for the last week to allow the parties sufficient time to prepare for an orderly transfer of operations at the Ardmore Police Department."

The city has also said in a previous release that Captain Kevin Norris has been assigned as acting chief of police. Hamblin remains on paid administrative leave.
