ARDMORE, OK - KXII teamed up the with the Oklahoma Blood Institute for a blood drive in Ardmore Friday.

The drive lasted from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
OBI said 60 people signed in at the blood mobile in the Walgreen's parking lot.

Of those 49 people were able to donate blood, which exceeded OBI's goal of 40 donations.

That blood can now be used to save 147 lives.

One donor at the drive has been giving blood since he was in college.

"Our fraternity had a blood drive every year, and it's an easy way to help out, easy way to give back to the community," said Heath Green, who donated blood.

If you missed this blood drive, there will be another one July 10th in Hugo at the Chocktaw Electric Cooperative.
