Ardmore politician receives "Protector of Children" award

ARDMORE, OK -- Thursday morning a local politician received an award for helping children.

The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy gave Representative Pat Ownbey, of Ardmore, a "Protector of Children" award.

Ownbey is one of four state lawmakers reforming the Oklahoma Department of Human services.

These representatives are working together to help children in the state's child welfare system.

The other three members also received awards from the institute.
