ARDMORE, OK--A new budget for Ardmore could mean a new building for the police department and more money for city employees. Monday Ardmore city commissioners approved a $55.9 million dollar budget.
City Manger JD Spohn said they are considering purchasing property to relocate Ardmore police because they are running out of room at the city hall. The budget will also cover street maintenance and a program that will replace the city's aged water and sewer lines..
Spohn says since sales tax was up 5.22 percent from last year the budget was able to include a 2 1/2 % cost of living increase for city workers. The budget year begins July 1st.
