ARDMORE, OK - Ardmore is gearing up for the fight against cancer.

The annual Relay For Life will begin Friday night at the Ardmore High School track.

The walk is put on by the American Cancer Society.

Organizers said the event is not just for cancer patients and their families, but the whole community.

The relay beings at 7 p.m. and ends at 7 a.m.

Ardmore's American Cancer Society Community Manager Teri Tolbert said the overnight walk represents the different stages of a cancer patient's journey.

"We finish up in the morning, it's a brand new day, there's hope and that represents the end of treatment or a cure or remission," Tolbert said.
