Arrest made in 10-year-old McCurtain Co. murder

McCURTAIN COUNTY, OK - Oklahoma state police make an arrest in a ten year old McCurtain County cold case.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation tells us this morning they arrested 39-year-old Jerry Meek who reported his wife, 25-year-old Hope Meek, missing back in 2002 a few days after the couple had a fight. They collected enough evidence then to show she was dead, but never found her body.

The OSBI says Meek's arrest was made possible by a new district attorney willing to prosecute the case without the victim's body. He was booked into the McCurtain County Jail for first degree murder.
