ARDMORE, OK - Assault charges against a Texoma postmaster have been dropped.

Court records show Wilson postmaster, Kenneth Powell, was charged with assault and battery and harrassment in March.

Wilson Police Chief Felix Hernandez said last January four different people filed complainants against Powell.

Powell's attorney said a Carter County Judge dropped the charges last week due to lack of evidence.

The United States Post Office would not comment on whether Powell, who had been suspended from his job, would be reinstated as postmaster.
