ATOKA, OK -- Friday night fire engines rang out across Atoka to celebrate breaking a world record.
Last year, more than 300 Fire trucks from across Oklahoma and Texas helped the city break the record for the longest fire truck parade. Atoka Fire Chief Donnie Allen says 220 trucks were registered with the Guinness World Records and beat the previous record of 159 trucks held by a town in Switzerland.
"We're all in this together as firefighters. Firefighters are a brotherhood in the State of Oklahoma and, you know, they all come to help each other. So it was a great deal and great honor to achieve this award for the State of Oklahoma," Allen said.
An awards ceremony was held after the parade to recognize those who helped make history.
