A combination of very strong winds, falling temperatures and frozen precipitation will make Wednesday and Wednesday night dangerous for motorists. Freezing rain and sleet will change to snow before ending late Wednesday or early Thursday. Wind chills of 5 to 10 degrees...with air temperatures in the low 20s...can be expected. Roads will be icy Thursday morning but should melt during the day as skies clear and temperatures rise above freezing.
ATOKA, OK - An Atoka man is behind bars for setting a house on fire. Atoka police arrested 51-year-old Robert Lee Mitchell for arson and public intoxication.
Investigators say Mitchell admitted to setting a house on fire on the 1200 block of South Montana street last Wednesday. Three people sleeping inside were able to escape without injury.
Officers say Mitchell got into a fight with the occupants earlier that night and threatened to burn the house down.
Mitchell remains in the county jail.
