ATOKA, OK-- Atoka County Commissioners say they're looking for a new emergency manager.

Current Emergency Manager, Gilbert Wilson, was charged with 33 counts of felony embezzlement related to his service as a county commissioner. Earlier this month district attorney Craig Ladd dismissed the case on the condition Wilson pay $6,200 in restitution and that he not seek reelection as Precinct 2 Commissioner.

Commissioners made no decisions about hiring today, but
they said Wilson can finish his term if the position is not filled before then. The term ends December 31st, and Wilson has volunteered to train whoever fills the position. Wilson currently serves as the county's emergency manager voluntarily.

"We need someone in there trying to be trained before this, before he gets out. We've got to have an emergency manager through the whole thing," Atoka County Commissioner Marvin Gale said.

Wilson's term is up December 31st.
