SHERMAN, TX -- Austin College has been awarded a three-year $500,000 dollar grant for digital communications.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant will provide staff members access to digital capabilities such as website creation and digital film production.
The funds will also allow students to perform in global discussions with experts and colleagues around the world in real-time.
Austin College President Majorie Hass says the award will help combine conventional teaching methods with modern programming.
"This grants will allow us to integrate digital tools into traditional discipline in order to expand the ways our students can learn and communicate that meaning with others," said Hass.
The proposed program will develop over a period of three years, with an average of nine faulty members participating each year.
