LAKE TEXOMA -- Grayson County game wardens say the man found dead at High Port Marina Monday morning died of natural causes.

Preston EMS responded to reports of a possible drowning on Lake Texoma around 10:30 a.m. Officials found the 85-year-old Troy Cox was dead when they arrived on-scene.

Jason Reedy, Preston paramedic, said a boater discovered the Cox floating between boat docks and pulled him on-shore.

Officials determined Cox had been in the water for "some time" by the time they arrived, Reedy said.

Cox was unloading his boat into the water and was driving it to a boat slip to park it, authorities said. Cox died before the boat reached the dock, they said.

"It's an unfortunate incident, especially this time with the holidays," Reedy said. "Our thoughts go out to the family."

Officials found Cox's truck parked on the boat ramp with the motor still running. They found his abandoned boat idling near the dock.
