BOSWELL, OK - Boswell Police are forced to arrest one of their own early Sunday morning for domestic violence of the officer's wife. Boswell Police Chief Bryon Gordon said 51-year-old Ricky Lewis Archer was arrested for assault and battery.

Gordon said this is a first for the department and is troubling for the close group of officers. Gordon said Archer had been with the department for over than 17 years.

Gordon said Archer was intoxicated at the time of the incident and told police he doesn't remember assaulting his wife.

He's charged with domestic violence and abuse. Archer will be arraigned by a Choctaw County judge Monday morning. He's currently under temporary suspension. If found guilty, Archer's State Certification will be permanently suspended and he will never be allowed to work in law enforcement again.
