Brinkley wins Cooke County Judge runoff

COOKE COUNTY, TX - In the race for Cooke County Judge, current Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Brinkley beats Byron Berry in Tuesday night's runoff.

No Democrats are running, so Brinkley becomes the new county judge.

Jason Brinkley has been declared the winner and is the new Cooke County Judge.

Brinkley received 59 % of the votes.

He said after a long six months, he ready to move forward with the residents of Cooke County.

"Well one thing we need to look into is really coming together as a county. We've had a contested county judge race. Now it's time to reach across and see what we can work on together because at the end of the day we all live in this county and we need to make sure that we are providing adequate services to our citizens for a low tax payer dollar," said Brinkley.

Brinkley will take office January 1st as the new Cooke County Judge.
