Broken Bow man gets 90 years for child sex crimes

IDABEL, OK -- In February, a jury convicted a Broken Bow man on dozens of felonies related to sex crimes with teenage boys.

On Monday an Antlers judge sentenced 32-year old Thomas Bradley Porton to 90-years in prison. It's a punishment prosecutors say they're pleased with.

"Our goal was that this man not have the opportunity to hurt another child and with this sentence it looks like he will be serving the rest of his life in prison, so we couldn't be more happy," said prosecutor Emily Herron.

Prior to sentencing Monday, a court secretary read letters from the victim's families and members of Porton's family pleaded for a reduced sentence.

"She grouped the types of crimes and ran those types of crimes concurrent, but consecutive to one another," said Herron. "Our calculation shows he will be serving approximately 90-years."

Porton's family says they plan on appealing the court's decision.
