The mayor, police chief and emergency managerment director were all on hand to accept the donation.

Emergency Management Director, Joel "Butch" Scalf, says the fund will be divided between the people in need. Each household chosen could get as much as 150 dollars.

"We saw a lot of people in need. Some can't pay their electricity bill. Some are having trouble with their roofs. And so these people need some help. And we've been blessed so we just wanted to give back to the community," said Thorpe.
