CARTER COUNTY, OK -- Investigators hope the charges against a man suspected of leading police on a chase in July will help lead to answers in a Carter County missing persons case.

James Conn Nipp was arraigned Wednesday on charges of eluding an officer.

Authorities say Nipp was the driver who led police on a chase in Love County in July, with Molly Miller and Colt Haynes in the Car.

Miller and Haynes haven't been heard from since.

Nipp was arrested Tuesday then posted a $10,000 dollar bond and was released from the Carter County Jail hours later.

District Attorney Craig Ladd says after Wednesday's arraignment he was taken back into custody on a prior drug charge.

Ladd says, "today a new bond was set on the motion to accelerate his deferred sentence in his drug case that he's on probation for currently."

Nipp also posted the $5,000 dollar bond for that charge.

His preliminary hearing conference for the charges of eluding an officer has been set for February 18th.
