Friends and family remember late Choctaw County deputy

CHOCTAW COUNTY, OK -- Saturday marked two years since the Choctaw County Sheriff's Office lost one of their own in the line of duty.

On April 19, 2012 Deputy Brian Hayden was responding to a call in his vehicle when he and a Choctaw Nation Tribal Officer collided.
Hayden was pronounced dead a short time later. Sheriff Terry Park says he misses Hayden's sense of humor the most.

"He was with us for just a short time, but he touched everyone here. Whether it be with his sense of humor or his knowledge of the job," Sheriff Park said.

Hayden's badge number 1206 has been retired at the Choctaw County Sheriff's Office. Park says before he leaves as sheriff he will have a memorial built by the courthouse
