City of Bells under boil order after power pole falls

BELLS, TX -- The City of Bells is under another boil order. This is the fifth water issue since November.

Lorie Ranken with the Bells Water department says a power pole fell this morning, and water isn't being pumped to the Southwest side of town.

She expects it will take 4 hours to get the electricity up and running again for that well.

The boil order is a precautionary measure and is enforced any time the water is shut off.

Speculation surrounding the water problems is what former Bells Mayor Gary Martin resigned over.

The City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday night at 6 p.m. to decide what to do about the Mayor's empty position.
