Comanche man charged with threatening teen with ax

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) - A Comanche man has been charged with threatening to use an ax cut off the head of an 18-year-old man.

Online court records show that 50-year-old Randell Kent Hodges was arrested after going to the district attorney's office and making the threat and is charged with planning an act of violence. He's being held in the Stephens County jail on $250,000 bond.

Defense attorney Carrie Hixon did not immediately return an after-hours phone call seeking comment.

Authorities say Hodges was upset because he believes that the teenager had harmed a member of Hodges' family and that law enforcement had made little progress in that case.
