Commemorative Air Force to relocate to Dallas Executive Airport

DALLAS, TX -- They had high hopes, but the North Texas Regional Airport - Perrin Field will not be the new home of a vintage military aviation group.

NTRA was a finalist to land the Commemorative Air Force, a group known for its historic planes, air shows and education.

But today the CAF announced plans to relocate to Dallas Executive Airport.

The CAF is currently based at Midland International Airport.

It was chartered in 1961 to restore and preserve World War II era combat aircraft.

They currently have 9,000 members and a fleet of nearly 160 decommissioned military planes.
