COOKE COUNTY, TX -- The Cooke County United Way is hosting a fan drive to help those in need stay cool during the summer months.
The United Way is collecting donations of new fans for the disabled and elderly of Cooke County.
The fans would then be given to clients of Meals on Wheels, and the Texoma Area Agency on Aging.
Executive Director of the Cooke County United Way, Angie Hare, said, "Box fans. They just seem to be the most direct. They're the easiest to use because the big fancy fan have all the bells and whistles on them. And some people may be vision impaired. So simply on, off, high, low is just the easiest."
The fan drive runs through Friday and you can drop off a fan at the United Way office located at 114 East Main Street in downtown Gainesville.
