BYNG, OK - An argument over a rifle may be to blame for the Sunday night murder of a Byng woman.

39-year old Johnny Campbell is being held without bond.

He's charged with first degree murder after police said he shot and killed his wife Jennifer.

Pontotoc County deputies found the 33-year old woman dead on the kitchen floor of the couple's home on Northeast 5th Street.

According to court documents Campbell admitted he and his wife had been arguing about a rifle being left near the back door of the home.

Campbell claims he snapped and shot his wife twice with that rifle then took off.

He's due back in court Monday.
