FANNIN COUNTY, TX -- The Texas DPS trooper who shot and killed a man in a Fannin County standoff earlier this month has been cleared of any criminal wrong doing.
On the night of June 7th investigators say 27-year-old Blake Compton died just hours after he was shot by a DPS trooper in front of his home as a result of a lengthy stand off.
It all happened north of Bonham off of Highway 78.
A grand jury has determined that the use of deadly force under the circumstances was lawful.
