Dallas man drowns at Turner Falls Park

DAVIS, OK - A Dallas man drowned Sunday while vacationing at Turner Falls Park.

The drowning happened around 7:15 p.m at the Blue Hole Pool swimming area.

Davis Police Chief Danny Cooper identified the victim as Christopher Seaton.

He is believed to be in his early twenties.

Witnesses said they called police ten minutes after Seaton went off a slide into the water and never re-surfaced.

Lifeguards recovered his body a short time later.

Park Manager Tom Graham said Seaton was swimming in the area after hours, which is why no lifeguards were on duty.

"The Blue Hole is manned from 10:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night by lifeguards," Graham said. "We have signs posted. It's a swimming area that during the time there is no lifeguards on duty, you swim at your own risk."

Officials said they are not sure if alcohol played a factor in the drowning.

This was one of five drownings on Oklahoma lakes over the weekend.
