Debate set for GOP hopefuls in Okla. 2nd District

CLAREMORE, Okla. (AP) - The two Republicans vying for their party's nomination to represent the 2nd Congressional District will meet in a debate before next month's runoff election.

Markwayne Mullin and George Faught are scheduled to debate Monday night at Rogers State University in Claremore.

Faught is a three-term state representative from Muskogee while Mullin is a business owner from Westville. Mullin captured 42 percent of the vote in the six-man GOP primary in June, while Faught finished with 23 percent.

Wayne Herriman and Rob Wallace face off in the Democratic runoff on Aug. 28.
