Denison Chamber of Commerce kicks off Kits for Kids

DENISON, TX-The Denison Chamber of Commerce ask for your help to make sure area kids have the tools they need when they come back to school after the holiday break.

That's why they're hosting the 6th annual "Kits for Kids" school supply drive. Chamber president, Anna McKinney said they are collecting school essentials like notebooks, pens, pencils and paper. They are also collecting clothes.

She said so far, they have collected $1,500 in donations and they're hoping to raise $6,000 in cash and supplies.

"We always go all out at the beginning of school. But it seems when they go back from the holiday break, there's a big need again for new pencils, new crayons, new paper," she said.

You can drop off donations at the Denison Chamber of Commerce.
