DENISON, TX -- Denison kicked off Veterans Day early with a parade down Main St. Saturday morning.
Dozens of people lined downtown around 11 o'clock to see local veterans waving from military vehicles, old cars and floats. Several veterans were also seen watching the parade. We caught up with a couple of them who say they appreciate communities who recognize their service.
"It just shows that the community is knowledgable of what we did for the country," Martin Finch, who served in the U.S. Air Force, said.
"That's good that they have this, it sure is," Veteran Michael Sims said.
Denison city officials want to remind you that the Wall of Honor and World War II ship display can still be seen at Katy Depot until December 7th. The displays will be open Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 and on Veterans Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
