Dickson Public School remembers student killed in crash

DICKSON, OK - Hearts are heavy at Dickson Public Schools as they prepare to say goodbye to a well-known high school student Friday.

16-year-old Rayshell Hunter was killed in a car crash last Friday after leaving the Dickson High School football game.

The crash happened on State Highway 199 near Red Cedar Road.

Three other teens in the vehicle are recovering at OU Medical Center.

Dickson's Superintendent Sherry Howe said with the help of counselors, students are staying positive.

"She was very kind and had a great big heart and a great big smile and always a team player, that kind of student," Howe said. "Very well liked, very popular with the kids. Yes they are having a difficult time but they are making it through with the expertise of our staff."

Hunter's funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the CrystalRock Cathedral in Ardmore.

A fund has been set up at Citizen Bank and Trust Company of Ardmore to help pay for Hunter's burial expenses.
