The Dollar Tree distribution center was built in Marietta back in 2003. 10 years later the distribution center is expanding and adding more than 100 jobs.

Timothy Reid with Dollar Tree headquarters said this expansion reflects an overall expansion in their business.

"This is all about supporting our continued growth as we move forward in the next several years," Reid said.

The company plans to move forward by adding about 400,000 square feet to the already 600,000 sqaure foot distribution center making it just over a million square feet.

Crews plan to break ground in February.

Dollar Tree will have some construction help from the Ardmore Development Authority.

"We can do that for them and that takes a big headache and that takes a lot of cost that otherwise they would bear on their own," said Brian Carter, Vice President of the Ardmore Development Authority.

Carter said the ADA is involved in planning the construction, but Dollar Tree is paying for the $25 million dollar expansion.

Even though the distribution center isn't in Ardmore, the Development Authority says it'll still benefit Ardmoreites.

"People who live in Ardmore may just as easily decide to take a job in a community fifteen miles down the road, as someone fifteen miles down the road may choose to take a job in Ardmore," Carter said.

That could mean more dollars in southern Oklahoma.
