DURANT, OKLAHOMA -- For months, Durant police say they've been investigating 20 year-old Sean Wyatt, the son of Republican Bryan County sheriff candidate John Wyatt.

Wednesday, their investigation ended when Sean was charged with nine felony counts.

We met up with John Wyatt as he was learning about his son's charges.

"All I really know is my son's an adult now and he doesn't live at home and he got into some trouble," John Wyatt said.

Sean is charged with rape, possession of child porn, burglary and malicious injury to property, among other things.

"We all love our children and sometimes they get into trouble and we can't help that," John Wyatt said.

An affidavit reveals that Sean Wyatt admitted to police he shot out 10 vehicle windows with his BB gun, and he and his friends would walk down roads at Country Estates neighborhood in Durant, breaking into cars.

They're accused of stealing a Kindle, laptop, camera, iPhone, money and more.

Those documents also state that when Durant police went to search Sean's apartment for these items, they looked through his cell phone, where they found explicit pictures of a 14 year-old girl.

The girl says the two had been having sex for more than a year, often in Sean's parent's house. John Wyatt says that never happened.

"Nobody else has been at our house. It's been my wife and I and our granddaughter, so I don't think that could be true," John Wyatt said.

John says what is happening with his son is one of the reasons he's running for sheriff.

"I'm trying to keep kids out of trouble by trying to make sure there's opportunities in this county for things for these kids to do and a lot of times there's nothing to do and they get into trouble. I love my son, my wife loves our son, and if he gets into trouble he's going to have to deal with the consequences. Hey, I'm still his father," John Wyatt said.

The affidavit regarding the rape is attached. Warning, it is graphic.
