DURANT, OK -- Waterline repairs in Durant this Tuesday will cause some traffic interruptions and may result in some brief water outages near the repair site.
South 9th Avenue from Arkansas Street to Mississippi Street will be closed as workers make the necessary repairs.
The project will begin at 8:00 Tuesday morning and is expected to conclude later that day, weather permitting.
Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes if possible.
Below is a list of detours provided by Durant Emergency Management.
ALL Northbound Trucks, Large Vehicles,
or those Towing Trailers; that are entering Durant from the South
on S. 9th (US 69B) SHOULD USE EITHER CHOCTAW RD. to US 69
or the US 70 Bypass Westbound as a DETOUR to access Durant.
ALL Northbound 9th Street (US 69B) traffic will be DETOURED
at Mississippi. TRUCK and THROUGH TRAFFIC that enter
the area will DETOUR WEST on Mississippi to 13th Street, then NORTH on 13th to Arkansas or Main Street, where they can access other areas of the city.
ALL traffic turning Southbound from Main Street onto 9th
Street (US 69B) will be DETOURED. TRUCK and THROUGH
TRAFFIC will DETOUR WEST on Arkansas to 13th, then
SOUTH on 13th to Mississippi, then EAST on Mississippi to
9th Street (US 69B). NOTE: Southbound traffic on 9th Street
South of Mississippi St. will not be affected by this detour.
