Eldercare faciltiy helps residents vote

Residents at the Ardmore Village want to vote. That's part of the reason why the facility worked to get a polling place on it's campus. Village activity director Kelli Spencer says it was all about making the process easier.

"It was envisioned to be a place of convenience for our older citizens," Spencer said. "So having a polling place on site is just a natural extension of the conveniences we wanna extend."

So the Ardmore Village worked with the city to make one of their buildings, Village Hall, a polling place on it's campus. Voters who can walk well take themselves to the polls. For those with mobility issues, Ardmore Village drove them in vans throughout the day to Village Hall. About 40 people took this option.

Sally Roberts rode down to cast her ballot today. She says she's grateful for the help to perform her civic duty.

"I think it's really important to vote for the candidate of your choice," said Roberts, "And I always do that."

For voters like Roberts having that convenience means she always can vote.
