Mill Creek families "happy" after courts award $73 million dollars in damages

JOHNSTON COUNTY, OK -- Attorneys for three Johnston County families say they're happy they finally received justice after a seven year battle in court.

A jury has awarded the Sikes, Converse, and Shirley-Robbins families $73 million dollars in damages.

This award after 10 million gallons of sewage was pumped into the creeks on their properties in 2006 by Mehlburger Brawley engineering firm and B-3 Incorporated.

The attorneys say this case has greatly affected the families, including one family that relied on the creek as a main water source and was forced to buy a house in Tishomingo.

They say the families are thankful it's all over.
