Family loses home to fire; Poker run raises money

Two weeks ago, the Beesley's home went up in flames. Now the Ravia family only has the charred remains of 20 years worth of memories in their home.

Summer Beesley lived here with her daughter and parents.

"We lost everything and I didn't even know where to start," she said.

But Summer's friends did.They put together a poker run--named Emily's Ride, after Summer's four-year-old daughter.

The ride started at Lacey's bar, where about 30 bikes will hit the road.

"She's lost everything so as a community we pulled together, and people helping people is what we're all about here at Lacey's bar," said Steve Maynard, the bar owner and event organizer.

At each of the four stops on the run riders were able to bid on auctioned items donated to the cause.24 sponsors supported the event.

Those numbers made Beesley realize how many people she could count on.

"This isn't even my hometown but people in this town knew me," said Beesley. "And they knew Emily, or my mom or my dad and they poured their hearts out to help us."

And despite the wild card thrown at Beesley, she's continuing to move forward by looking at what she still has.

"I couldn't call it anything other than a blessing because I didn't lose my family" she said. "And family's what makes a home, not a house."
