PARIS, TX-- A former Paris city employee avoids jail time by pleading guilty to stealing while on the job.

Officials say 49 year old Robin Kay Norwood, of Pattonville, was ordered to pay over $9,500 dollars in restitution, complete 400 hours of community service and serve a 5 year deferred probation.

According to the Lamar County District Clerk, Norwood was arrested in October for theft of property greater than $1,500 but less than $20,000.

Norwood is accused of stealing from the city from January of 2012 until September of last year. City Manager John Godwin says Norwood worked in the city clerk's office until she was fired on September 16th.
