ADA, OK - A former Pontotoc County law enforcement officer finds himself on the wrong side of the law after deputies say he broke into his ex-wife's house and assaulted her boyfriend.
Former Ada police officer and Pontotoc County deputy Chris Bittle was arrested Sunday for assault and battery with a deadly weapon at the residence west of Ada.
The sheriff's office says Bittle strangled then held a knife to the man's throat.
When deputies arrived they found him hiding in a closet he tried to fight a deputy before he was tazed and arrested.
Bittle remains in the county jail.
