GRAYSON COUNTY, TX-The Grayson County Health Department partners up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to fight breast cancer by giving free mammograms Friday.

The health department will hold the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Women's Health clinic Friday morning after receiving a grant of almost $96,000 from the organization. The grant allows them to provide free breast education, screenings and free mammograms for underinsured and uninsured women over 40 in the area.
Registered nurse, Denise Wardell is hoping the clinic will promote awareness of the importance of early detection.

"Women will know the importance of getting it and keeping up with their body and knowing their bodies. Just getting the message out there basically so we can save more lives," she said.

The clinic will be Friday morning 9 to 11 at the Grayson County Health Department office in Denison.
