GAINESVILLE, TX -- The Gainesville city council will accept a council member's resignation at Tuesday's meeting.
Councilman Vince Rippy is vacating his seat because he now lives outside his ward.
Mayor Jim Goldsworthy says the council will spend the next 30 to 60 days accepting applicants from ward six, who will take over Rippy's unexpired term until the next regular election.
Rippy served on the council for six years.
