Grass fire in Gordonville triggered by gunshots

GORDONVILLE, TX -- Fire officials believe it was a gun being fired that started a grass fire in Grayson County on Saturday afternoon.

"Approximately about eight acres and we had it pretty well knocked out in about an hour, hour and a half," said Gordonville Assistant Fire Chief, Josh Palmer, about the area affected.

Palmer said a couple of people were apparently shooting at targets when the flames ignited off Highway 377.

Several fire departments, including Sherwood Shores, Whitesboro and Sadler also responded.
