GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- Dozens of Grayson County citizens became emergency response certified Tuesday night.
As their final challenge, these Grayson County CERT trainees took part in a mock exercise.
The scenario, a tornado has hit the courthouse and their task is to assist first responders in saving possible victims inside.
The courthouse was staged for the scenario and volunteers dressed up as victims.
Trainees say it's a rewarding experience.
"We need to be able to train so that you know how to react in case of an emergency." said CERT Trainer Wade Graves.
The county is now accepting members for next year's CERT class.
The class meets once a month for nine months, beginning in January.
